Here is a selection of feedback received from people about their experience of using the Traders Mind Journal.

I really enjoyed the consistency of staying in tune with my psychology. Writing things down brings awareness to it which really helped me. The flow of the journal works really well, and at no point did I feel a burden on my time or energy like I have in the past with some note taking exercises I have set myself.”

“I found assessing my daily stress, energy and mood to be very valuable for prompting a think about my state in which to trade. More importantly, they also caused me to think why they were what they were. Why was stress low? Why was energy high? Or the other way around, of course.”

“Performing at your best is something that can be learned. Once acquired it still needs a diary/monitoring to make sure it is sustained. I really liked the trading performance scorecard, with the 8 factors to assess myself against each week, and the daily sheets are great - writing down my observations, evaluations, planning was particularly helpful.”

"I think the very process of writing down thoughts and ideas creates a flow that no online journal can replicate."

"Eye opener!”

“It’s been brilliant I am using it every day religiously and feel it’s made a big difference to both my trading and my mindset - I also managed to persuade my mate to order one as I felt it will definitely help him - I wouldn’t be without mine now “

At first, it is a demanding exercise. Like when you are beginning a sports training. As I get more persistent it gets easier. I can't wait for it to become a second nature. I learn a lot about myself, not only regarding trading but also in everyday life. "

"Very Good.  It’s clear and well-structured and that permeates into my trading process, nudging me to be more structured and to order my thoughts and priorities. Although I have not been using it for very long it has made me stop and think about my trading in a holistic way - look at my process, the market, what drives me, as well as the emotional aspect.

Altogether a very positive contribution, I look forward to updating it every day to pause and re􀀁lect."

“The Traders Mind Journal is a fantastic product from aesthetics to content. The journal is striking to look at and immediately drove my desire to start journaling. However, surveying the journal's contents was initially intimidating because the number of tools at my disposal was overwhelming. On closer inspection, however, it became clear that the content was both structured and gave me the freedom to adapt the journal to my speci􀀁ic needs. In addition, the questions are thought-provoking and give me a solid foundation for journaling and encourage me to expand upon the content to make the journal my own. Equally helpful is the guidance you provide through blog posts expanding on each of the Performance Scorecard categories.

I am benefitting from the journal to the extent that I adapted your journal's principles and concepts to improve other areas of my life.”

“I’ve just completed my first full month of using TMJ. I’ve been diligent in using the daily sheets and completing the weekly and monthly exercises.

What I have especially noticed is repeating thoughts and recurring mental themes” which have brought awareness to these things. Instead of my monkey mind chasing these thoughts in circles, I have been able to more clearly organize and rearrange my thoughts.

One daily question I especially like is “the most important things to focus on my trading today are:” as this brings things to the forefront of my mind which I maybe have missed from previous sessions. I have noticed that I will often have similar themes here as well, such as “focus on my breathing while managing a trade” and “become aware of body/muscle tension while in a trade” as these 2 things are something I continue to work on.

Overall, I would recommend this journal to any and every trader looking to understand themselves and their trading behaviours better.”

“What I really liked about the journal was the layout. It flowed really well from one day to the next.”

“The simplicity of the mental prep ahead of each day was very good – honing in on the key points was helpful given my time is precious in the mornings as I review market moves.”

“The Weekly review questions were very good, in particular to reference to progress made on the weekly learning goal which is built around overall monthly goals – this is something that I have struggled with in the past.”

 – DH

“The question I enjoyed most was “A challenging or difficult situation that I may face in my trading this week is… and my best trading self would deal with it by:” If a trader could become good a predicting potential difficult situations that they may face it would be invaluable.”

I really like the morning preparation question which focused on key strengths and qualities to bring to the trading day. I really like the way the focus on weekly goals and actions, this anchored me back to what I am trying to work on, thinking of the bigger picture and then bringing it back to specific actions that will actually make a difference.”

One of my fav. tools by far... My best trading streaks & periods come when I journal on a daily basis. When I stop doing it I tend to lose my process and fall into emotions and lose composure.

It’s made a dramatic difference to my mindset/trading – yes sometimes it’s a ball ache having to do it on a daily basis but 100% worth it.
